We worked with a fantastic group of lone parents from Liskeard Job Centre.
Here they all are with their certificates celebrating their success at their pass out on the Friday.
The group worked hard during the week, the all improved their confidence, feelings of self belief and ability to work and communicate in a team.
They became a solid team unit and supported one another to make sure they all could complete all that was asked of them. Many of them used this chance to build up their support network and commented on how nice it was to be able to spend time with other adults.
One of the participants said “this has been an opportunity for me to push myself and see what I can achieve when I put my mind to it. It’s taken me way out of my comfort zone and given me a real sense of achievement.”
All of the members of the team successfully completed their heart start qualification during the week with us.

Here is a quote from another participant from the week “The Phoenix course has given me the ability to get back up when I get knocked back. I will no longer accept no as an answer and to keep knocking on doors until one of them opens. I am more determined than ever now to start up my own child minding business and have set up a meeting with family and children services that will offer me help to do this and get the ball rolling!”
